Anti Carbonation Coatings

Anti-Carbonation Coatings have been formulated to provide long term protective and decorative properties to concrete and masonry surfaces. The micro-porous structure of the coating acts as a barrier to the ingress of Chlorides and Carbon Dioxide and other acid gases, but allows the passage of water vapour from the substrate. The elastometric nature of some coatings can ensure good crack bridging properties, in case of structural movement.

The Advantages

  • Easy to clean
  • Excellent weathering resistance
  • Single pack and easy to apply
  • Protects substrates form Carbonation
  • Highly resistant to freeze/thaw cycling
  • Elastic nature with crack bridging properties if required
  • Allows structure to "breathe"
  • Water based and non-toxic
  • Wide range of colours available.
  • Fairing Coatings

Fairing coatings can be applied to offer further protection against carbonation to concrete surfaces. These products would be applied prior to the decorative anti carbonation coating being applied and provides a uniform finish and appearance further to patch repairs being carried out.

    Asbestos Encapulation

The new Control of Asbestos at Work Act now makes it a legal requirement for any asbestos within structures to be identified and controlled.

Many concrete, particularly older concrete buildings and tunnels may contain asbestos that needs priority treatment.

DSR can provide asbestos encapsulation systems which will secure any harmful fibres, provide a weatherproof coating and upgrade the surface while creating a safe environment and ensuring full compliance with the Act.
